Itinerary

DAY 01 DESCENT TO THE HIGH JUNGLE AND OPENING

Your journey begins in Cusco, where our private transportation will pick you up from your hotel at 10:00 a.m. We will depart shortly after, heading toward the majestic Andes and ascending to the sacred Abra Málaga Pass, a powerful energetic gateway where we will pause to ask permission from the Apus (mountain spirits) before continuing our journey.

As we descend, you will witness a profound transformation of landscapes — from towering glaciers and rushing rivers to the warm, lush embrace of the high jungle (ceja de selva). Along the way, we will make strategic stops so you can fully connect with the beauty and energy of this sacred land.

At approximately 16:00 hrs, we will arrive at Mandor Lodge, a serene sanctuary surrounded by nature. You will settle into your accommodation and have time to rest, ground your energy, and prepare for the inner journey ahead.

At 17:00 hrs, we will gather for an opening circle, where we will share intentions and provide a detailed orientation about the retreat, including guidelines, dietary recommendations, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and meaningful experience.

Later, at 22:00 hrs, you will participate in your first Ayahuasca ceremony. This initial ceremony is focused on energetic cleansing, personal diagnosis, and establishing a deep connection with the medicine, guided by experienced facilitators in a safe and sacred space.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Transportation from Cusco to Mandor Lodge (via Abra Málaga & Quillabamba)
  • Scenic journey: glaciers, rivers, and high jungle landscapes
  • Andean ritual: permission to the Apus
  • Opening circle & retreat briefing
  • First Ayahuasca ceremony (night)

Enjoy an exclusive day of spiritual purification at the mystical Yanay waterfall, where the powerful energy of water becomes the central element in a process of deep renewal. During the day, you will participate in carefully designed practices to channel the natural energy of the waterfall, performing a spiritual and energetic cleansing that will revitalize your being. This experience will be guided by a select group of expert shamans, who will lead the rituals with ancestral knowledge that ensures authenticity and depth. As night falls, the experience will transform into a unique overnight retreat: we will spend the night by the waterfall under the starry sky and begin the sacred ayahuasca ceremony. This ritual, which will last throughout the night, will be led by highly trained Incan shamans who will guide and protect you throughout the entire healing and spiritual cleansing process. This holistic approach will allow you to immerse yourself in an unparalleled connection with nature and your inner self, in a safe and profoundly spiritual environment that will transform your experience.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Walking to the Waterfall.
  • Open ceremony for  cleansing.
  • Spiritual cleansing in the Water.
  • Ayahuasca ceremony during the night.
  • Overnight stay at the Yanay Waterfall.

After a night of deep connection and spiritual exploration during the ayahuasca ceremony, this morning we will make our way back to Mandor Lodge. There, a carefully prepared, delicious, and nutrient-rich breakfast awaits us, revitalizing our bodies and souls after the intense experience. This meal will not only satisfy our hunger but also provide the energy needed for the day of rest.

The rest of the day will be dedicated to relaxation, allowing for the integration of emotions and reflections from the ceremony. The rapé ceremony will take place, involving an ancestral tobacco preparation that harmonizes other medicines and establishes a connection with the spirit and the universe. Used since ancient times for purification and detoxification, rapé induces a profound meditative state, enhances spiritual vision, clears the mind, and silences internal dialogue.

As night falls, we will gather once more to enjoy a nourishing dinner that will prepare us for a moment of community and dialogue. Around a warm and welcoming bonfire, we will share our experiences, recounting the visions and emotions we encountered. This conversation will be guided by the shamans, who will be available to answer questions and share their ancestral wisdom, helping us interpret and understand the messages from the ceremony. This gathering will be an invaluable time to delve deeper into the meaning of the visions and to strengthen the bond with the group and the spirituality surrounding the experience.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Mental relaxing.
  • Chillout.
  • Rapé ceremony
  • Meeting to talk about the ceremony and vision about the Ayahuasca ceremony.
  • Meeting with Shamans.

On this day, after a restorative rest that allows us to integrate the teachings from the previous ayahuasca ceremony, we will begin our day with a specially crafted breakfast designed to optimally nourish us, preparing both body and mind for the spiritual activities ahead. We will start with an offering to Pachamama, Mother Earth, in a sacred act of reciprocity, expressing our gratitude for the life, energy, and sustenance she provides. This ancestral ritual will take place in a serene natural setting, filled with positive vibrations, perfect for deeply connecting with the essence of the earth and renewing our spiritual bond.

In the afternoon, we will embark on a path to the majestic waterfall, a place of great power and energy that will serve as the stage for the second ayahuasca ceremony. This ritual, conducted under the starlit sky, promises an intense immersion into introspection and expanded consciousness, guiding us toward self-knowledge and profound healing. Throughout this day, we will maintain a ritual fast after breakfast, allowing our body and spirit to align and be ready to receive and process the teachings and visions of the ceremony.

The night will unfold as a spiritual and transformative journey, filled with mystical learning and deep healing. The communion with the natural elements, the echo of the waterfall, and the guidance of expert shamans will envelop us in a sacred space where healing and personal growth will reach their fullest expression.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Offering to the Mother Earth.
  • Overnight Waterfall.
  • Ayahuasca ceremony all night long.

In the afternoon, we will hold a gathering to share and reflect on the overall experience, delving into the lessons and insights gained throughout the process. This day will be essential for integrating and assimilating what was experienced, allowing for a clearer understanding of the effects and significance of the spiritual journey.

We will spend the night at Mandor Lodge, providing you with the opportunity to recover the rest lost during the previous ceremonies. Additionally, this day will be dedicated to a guided meditation session designed to promote deep relaxation and facilitate the clarification of important aspects of the ceremonies and the application of the medicinal plant, a sacred legacy handed down by our Incan ancestors. FAQ

This is a seven-day program specifically designed for the practice of meditation, introspection, spiritual connectivity, and self-healing. The retreat aims to provide respite from the stresses and distractions of urban life that adversely impact our well-being. Our natural surroundings, ancestral sacred sites, and the guided retreat in the jungle will serve as the venue for this immersive experience. We cordially invite you to partake in this transformative opportunity that promises to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.
The forthcoming retreat will emulate the spiritual pilgrimages undertaken by our esteemed Inka ancestors. To enhance the comfort and convenience of our participants, we have arranged a lodge utilization during the program. However, during the Ayahuasca ceremony nights, we will be situated in the open-air ambiance of the ancient Inca centers, allowing for a more authentic and spiritual experience.
The nutrition provided during the retreat is exclusively sourced from local, organic produce, which is ideally suited for both hiking and retreats. These nutrient-dense, alkaline-based foods supply essential proteins, carbohydrates, and micronutrients, crucial for optimal physical performance and recovery. For participants requiring a vegan diet, we also offer vegan options to cater to their needs. It is imperative to recognize that the journey towards holistic healing commences with the nutrition we provide to our bodies.
We strongly advise that participants bring appropriate attire for trekking and warm weather conditions. To ensure your comfort and well-being, we recommend packing the following items: Light and breathable clothing Quick-drying clothing Long-sleeved clothing and long pants Waterproof and water-resistant clothing Appropriate footwear Cold weather clothing Sun protection clothing Comfortable clothing for rest
Experience in hiking is not important since the hiking days will not be very long. However, it is essential to have good altitude acclimatization since we will reach 2700 meters above sea level. Therefore, it is important to acclimate well to avoid altitude sickness.
In order to enroll in our retreat, it is imperative to select from the pre-scheduled dates of our monthly program. It is worth noting that our retreats are meticulously designed to align with the lunar cycle. As such, the third ayahuasca ceremony is conducted during either the full or new moon phase. To secure your reservation, we require an initial payment of 50% of the total retreat cost.
Our retreat is tailored for individuals seeking to augment their spiritual journey. It is highly advised that the choice to partake in this retreat should be an independent and introspective decision. We welcome minors to attend our retreat, provided they are at least 12 years of age.
It’s essential to keep in mind that the use of ayahuasca is a delicate practice that must be undertaken with care and under the guidance of a skilled shaman. That’s why it’s crucial to notify the retreat company or shaman about any pre-existing medical conditions you have before attending the retreat. During the retreat in rough terrain, injuries can happen, so we have a trained high mountain guide to assist us in those cases. In the event of a pre-existing illness or altitude sickness, depending on its severity, it may be necessary to leave the retreat and seek treatment at a nearby medical facility. The high mountain guides leading the hike are prepared to provide aid and prevent any such incidents during the retreat.
There are no mandatory vaccinations, and we advise against taking multiple medications for altitude sickness prevention. Instead, we highly recommend having proper altitude acclimatization for at least three days prior to the retreat.

Moments of reflection and meditation take place every day.
Of course, you can go with family or friends, especially going with your partner is the best decision.
Absolutely, feel free to bring your own food! Just let us know ahead of time, either during booking or in the pre-retreat instructions, about your dietary requirements so we can accommodate them. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with 100% organic food options!
We have spacious 20-passenger vans that will transport us to and from the retreat’s starting and ending points. During the retreat, we will arrange for local transportation to take us to the nearby hot springs as the location is quite distant from the city.
After the Ayahuasca ceremonies, we’ll take some rest breaks to recharge. During these breaks, we’ll relax until it’s time for lunch and then embark on a leisurely two-hour walk to our next campsite.
During the retreat, we’ll encounter small local stores at campsites and along the trail. While these shops provide a convenient pit-stop for essential items like refreshing drinks, chocolates, and other necessities, they only accept cash. Payment via card or transfers won’t be possible in these areas.
During our stay at the jungle campsites, we’ll be in remote areas where internet access is not available. Since the focus of this retreat is on connecting with nature and oneself spiritually, we advise against excessive use of the internet. However, in case of emergency or great importance, we’ll do our best to locate Wi-Fi hotspots along the way.
During the retreat, you’re allowed to send a luggage weighing up to 9 kilos. This luggage will contain your clothing, sandals, towels, and other essentials. During the hike, however, you’ll only need to carry your daypack, which should contain your most valuable belongings.
Although this retreat doesn’t have any strict rules, it’s essential to keep in mind that we have spiritual guides, and it’s advisable to follow their suggestions. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance. We’re all here to support each other like brothers and sisters and create a stronger, more connected community.
Our communication during the retreat will be personalized, as we’ll have a high mountain guide and three or four shamans who’ll lead the spiritual work and ayahuasca ceremonies. These knowledgeable guides will be with us for the entire nine-day retreat, providing guidance and support along the way.
There are additional leisurely pursuits that we can partake in during our excursion. These include a visit to the Cocalmayo thermal springs, renowned for their therapeutic qualities, as well as an exhilarating endeavor: the lengthiest zip line in the entire country of Peru. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to engage in a unique coffee experience with a preeminent coffee cultivator.
Rest assured, the success of the retreat is a top priority for us. Our shamans are native descendants of the Incas, entrusted with preserving the ancient wisdom that has been passed down for generations. Furthermore, our highly skilled and experienced mountain guides possess over a decade of expertise in high-altitude rescue training, guaranteeing your safety and security throughout the retreat. Additionally, Kuraka Travel is a fully compliant, legally registered company with the government, abiding by all tourism laws in Peru. With these assurances, we confidently guarantee a successful and fulfilling retreat experience.

WHY THE SPIRITUAL WORKS WITH THE COSMIC CALENDAR

Our ancestors measured time by observing cosmic stars such as the sun and the moon, which maintain the balance of life on our planet Earth. It has been scientifically proven that these stars influence the behavior of humanity, as well as animals, plants, and natural elements. Because of this, spiritual retreats should be held in the SACRED energy centers of Mother Nature (PACHAMAMA) following our ancestors’ traditional way.
